Dr. Moore-

I have tears streaming down my face after I read this letter. I know that it was written for me as well. You see, I am adopted, so when Blue Letter Bible posted this link to my Facebook feed I just had to click it. I am recently saved, and the first time I read Galatians 4: 4-7 I wept because I knew exactly what the implications meant. I knew that I was lucky enough to be adopted, not once, but twice. This blog is especially poignant to me because I have just decided to start the search for my biological parents, and I am acutely aware that I don't know what I may find. But I do know that God brought me to this blog tonight to read this passage, "My prayer for you is that you see how fervently you are loved. Your birth-mother loved you, or you wouldn’t be here to read this. Your parents love you, and always will, no matter what. Even more importantly, the God who formed you loves you enough to show you in your own life a picture of what he wants for all of us: to be adopted, for life, into his family." Any fears that I had of a second abandonment from my birth parents have been soothed through this one short paragraph. Your words have reminded me that no matter what I do find, I was loved enough to be born and that my life is part of God's perfect plan. No matter what I find I will have God's perfect love to help me through it. Thank you so much for writing this letter, and thank you for the work that you do on behalf of the children out there that need forever homes. God bless you.

My husband and I are in the process of adopting (from Korea) also. I came across the link to this article on a blog. It brought tears to my eyes as I read it. I am so thankful I have been adopted by God. I am also thankful God has lead us to adopt. I'm thankful we will be able to share our love and to proclaim God's great mercy and love with our precious child. We don't know who that will be right now, but He does! I plan to read this to our little one some day.

My sweet friend just sent me this link as an encouragement. We are in the process of adopting from Ethiopia, and I am plagued on how to pray for our babe and his/her parents. We'll be book marking this for our "baby buna"...your book and your preaching (we are members of sojourn) have been a blessing during this season. Thank you for reminding us that our only hope in being adoptive parents is our experience as adopted children of God!

This letter is so inspiring and uplifting. As an adopted child I would have loved to read something like this when I was exploring who I really was and felt like I was just a compromise for a couple who couldn't have kids. Thankfully I have learned of the love of Christ and God the Father and realize that I am not just an adopted child of a random couple, but was divinely placed to be exactly where I grew up and where I am now.
Thank you for all of your support and encouragement and promotion of adoption. It is truly inspiring!
I pray for this child, that they will one day come to see what you have so clearly displayed in this letter as truth.

Dr. Moore,
Great letter to the child. We have many parents who are adopting in our church and it is glorious in His sight! Just a suggestion, would you also write a letter to his parents reminding them that the greatest gift they can give to him is to be a mom and dad who love the Lord with all their hearts and love each other with a covenant, stick-to-it-no-matter-what kind of love? In our city we are experiencing the incredible sadness of moms & dads getting their kids into their teens and then quitting on their marriages. Don't mean to put a "downer" on this letter, but I pray that parents will love their kids by loving each other in Christ. Thanks for all you do for the encouragement of families to adopt!

What a precious letter. I too like his parents, just listend to the last minutes of your audiobook(seriously 30 min ago). I have been doing the Aba cry for God to open a situation to adopt. This letter I may bookmark and keep someday and read to our blessing. Thank you for your book, I know it has, will and is guiding many.
