Dr. Moore,

Excellent post, thank you for writing this and for sharing with us this astute summary of Calvin’s Institutes. As you mentioned earlier, there are false beliefs that you may have about Calvin if you haven't read his works. Unfortunately, internet forums/blogs are full of fallacious reiterations and presuppositions concerning Calvin. It only takes a brief scan of a few forums/blogs to witness the level of malignity that plague "Calvinist/Arminian wars". It is my hope that your contribution will help with dispelling myths, outright lies and misinformation as they pertain to Calvin and his works. Most of, however, it is my hope that the word and meaning of God's truth be preserved and made manifest in us for our good and His glory.

God bless,
Wade

Dr. Moore,
Thank you so much. I think the opening paragraph of this post was the best expression of my own feelings regarding this "debate" that I have ever come across. Not to mention that I think I will now pick up my copy of Institutes and enjoy some good reading time!

I just started reading that book (an excellent read, by the way), and I had no idea it was edited from a Christian perspective when I bought it. I was pleasantly surprised. And doubly so when I saw you had written an essay on John Calvin!

Excellent! Thanks so much for sharing this, and for pointing out that our commission isn't about defending Calvinism/Arminianism/Other, but is to proclaim the Kingdom of God.
