@Charmaine Kraft, I believe that Hitchens was allowed to be where he wanted to be...separated from God for eternity. While I wish there was something we could do to save him from damnation, my conviction and love for God's justice is more important to me than any emotional sense of 'tolerance.' My point: purgatory does not exist, and if Hitchens did not believe Jesus is the Christ then Hitchens is in hell.
Please understand I am only holding to the teachings from scripture on this.

This past March my wife and I welcomed our second son into our family. It was C-section so after the birth Abram (our son's name) and I went to the nursery to get cleaned up. After he was clean we went and found mommy, and I laid little Abram in Jennifer's arms for the first time...not five minutes later the Dr came in, asked her mother to leave and told us he was 90% sure he had DS (he didn’t have the best bed-side-manners, and I'm convinced he was shocked we didn’t want to get ride of him because of the DS). We had no idea, we had refused all the extra testing, because at the end of the day it wouldn't matter, God knit him in the womb the way He wanted him to be, but it has been a journey. Abram had two heart defects that were fixed through open heart surgery this past Oct, and he is good to go now. Abram is a wonderful Gift that we are still experiencing! If Taylor every wants to meet a kid with DS, we would have no problems working that out! I appreciate your ministry Dr Moore; you had a big impact on me while I was at Southern.

Congratulations on your newborn son. As Brian Watson said above, I pray that he will trust the Lord early in life, be faithful, and speed the aroma of Christ.

This is a very touching letter. It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing.

Congratulations to you and your growing family. As a father of one, with another on the way (and having started the process to adopt a third child!), my prayer is that my children and yours will trust in Jesus, and to be faithful in a confused world, blinded by sin.

I hope there is some way to get your beautiful letter to your new son more widely read; especially for mothers planning abortions. I found it via your Christopher Hitchens piece.
Again, a very Spirit-filled column. HOWEVER, Hitchens is
in Purgatory, not Heaven, yet. To enter the feast one must be properly dressed. No one continually wears dirty clothes without having them washed. Purification is necessary.
We can't all be on the cross next to Jesus, some of us are still
climbing up Calvary and aren't that lucky.
"God Most High, I come before you throughout this week to plead for the souls of my brothers and sisters who refuse to acknowledge your existence. I urge you to fill them with your graces so that they will open their hearts to listen to your most Holy Word." (Courtesy of The Warning Second Coming site)

Dr. Moore, this is wonderful.

My wife and I celebrated the birth of our first son in October. And this being our first Christmas with an infant son, and thinking of Christ's birth, and then this open letter to Eugene -- all of this struck me deeply.

I'm so happy for you and Maria, and for Eugene to have you two as parents.

Merry Christmas!
