On the Issues: The Virgin Birth

The virgin birth is a critical point of Christian orthodoxy. But for some Christians, the virgin birth is a difficult topic. There are some believers who seem to be embarrassed by the idea of the virgin birth. Others may struggle to believe in it, or simply don’t know what to make of it. The Bible clearly teaches that Jesus was born of a virgin. And as we read the New Testament, we see that the virgin birth is not incidental to Christian theology, but central to what we believe about Jesus.

Only when we see how lost we are, we can find our way again. Only when we bury what’s dead can we experience life again. Only when we lose our religion can we be amazed by grace again.
