Kingdom Come, and Coming

As most readers of this site know, the Kingdom of Christ is the defining passion of my ministry. There is much good work on the Kingdom out there, and a lot of schlock too. In the former category is a paper now posted on the Henry Institute site by Christopher W. Cowan of the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood (CBMW).

Cowan is an up-and-coming New Testament scholar, and one of the clearest and most engaging writers I know. His brief paper is a succinct and winsome exposition of the “already/not yet” biblical theme of the Kingdom of God. You can access it here.

For more information about the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood (one of the most needed and best run organizations in evangelicalism), go to the Council’s website.

And, of course, for a discussion of the Kingdom and the “already/not yet”, check out my book, The Kingdom of Christ. You can buy it here, and you can read an excerpt here.

Only when we see how lost we are, we can find our way again. Only when we bury what’s dead can we experience life again. Only when we lose our religion can we be amazed by grace again.
