Christ and Children’s Curricula
— Monday, November 7th, 2011 —
A couple of weeks back, beneath a commentary I wrote on my salvation testimony, one of you asked the question: “Do you have any articles or resources that you would recommend to Christian parents on how to view the spiritual status of their young children?”
First, I’d recommend this article co-written by my friends, Danny Akin and Albert Mohler, entitled, “The Salvation of the ‘Little Ones.’”
At the level of teaching and discipling young children, there are a couple of really good curricula that I think some of y’all may enjoy: Children Desiring God and Treasuring Christ Curriculum (material that, as I’ve written before, isn’t afraid of blood).

We are loving the Treasuring Christ curriculum. Steve and the gang are doing a great job!
Thanks for bringing this up. Scripture does not give us many prescriptive details about 2nd generation believers. Everyone saved was either a pagan, a practicing Jew, or some type of other theist. Discerning the salvation/spiritual health of children and students has always been a bit of a challenge to me. I know the two curricula you mentioned above are quality…I would recommend both.
I would also suggest a recent post of mine that looks at 8 Questions to Evaluate Your Child’s Salvation. I think there could be some helpful insights here and I would love for some interaction on the topic. http://becomingsaturated.com/2011/11/salvationquestions/

Another good curriculum for children is Generations of Grace produced by John MacArthur’s church. Positive Action for Christ published Bible curriculum for Christian schools. Their preschool curriculum Exploring God’s Love is solid. Their Rt66 Bible Survey for Middle School is excellent. They will be producing a curriculum on the Life and Letters of Paul. I have been asked to be the author of that one and it will be in print in 2013.
Do you care if I reference thing about this on my site if I post a link back to this website?
