On the Issues: Hell

Tweet Share

Hell is one of the most controversial Christian doctrines. And this doctrine lies at the root of many other points of tension related to Christian beliefs, whether one is talking about the doctrine of sin or the Bible’s teaching on sexuality or something else. Some Christians today, in an effort to show they are not merely preaching “hellfire and brimstone,” can unintentionally slide into a pseudo-universalism–downplaying the doctrine of hell for various reasons, oftentimes in an effort to appear more loving to non-Christians. In this video, I discuss the seriousness of sin, the need for justice, and what orthodox Christians believe about the doctrine of hell.
