Perhaps yesterday’s commentary was a little too harsh. The October 8 “Best of the Web” column by James Taranto of the Wall Street Journal has a different take on the German “kindergarten” where wives can drop off their men while they shop. “This may not be as silly as it sounds,” notes the WSJ. “After all, the last time German men were left without adult supervision, they ended up overruning Europe.”

Only when we see how lost we are, we can find our way again. Only when we bury what’s dead can we experience life again. Only when we lose our religion can we be amazed by grace again.
