According to Intelligent Design theorist Jonathan Witt, a new poll reveals that a significant minority (34 percent) of American doctors explicitly reject Darwinism in favor of ID. As Witt notes, this is a telling development from those who deal daily with the intricacies of the human body. Witt further celebrates the fact that 60 percent of doctors hold to to ID when the theistic evolutionists are included. I think this is too little to celebrate, both because I think “theistic evolution” is as unstable and contradictory a category as “Christian feminism” and because I suspect most of these “theistic evolutionists” are simply Darwinists who go to church on Sundays. Still, the 34 percent number is another impressive crack in the Darwinian temple wall.
